how we help
Our Process
Making your home safer and more accessible can feel overwhelming. At Accessible Spaces, we guide you through every step of the process, from the first conversation to the final walkthrough. Here’s our typical process:
Learn about your needs and evaluate your home.
Create a custom solution that best meets your needs while working within the constraints of your home.
Do the work. We handle it all. And we use trained-in-house, W-2 employees for 90% of our work, so that subcontractors aren’t a variable.
Walk through the finished job with you to ensure the space meets your needs and expectations.
Common Projects
-
We can install modular aluminum ramps or build custom wooden ramps to fit your needs. Aluminum ramps are a great removable option, while wooden ramps provide a more permanent, aesthetic solution. Each ramp type can be built to any length.
-
Common bathrooms upgrades include barrier-free showers, wall-mounted sinks, ADA-height toilets, doorway widening, rubber or slip-resistant flooring, and professionally installed grab bars throughout the bathroom where extra stability is needed.
-
Typical kitchen changes include lowered countertops, roll-under sinks, lever-style or touch faucets, pull-down cabinet shelves, and widened pathways for better wheelchairs maneuverability.
-
We widen interior and exterior doorways to improve access for wheelchairs, walkers, and other mobility devices. We ensure proper clearances, smooth transitions, and secure hardware so each entryway is safe, functional, and easy to navigate.
-
We modify floors to improve safety and traction. Options include slip-resistant vinyl, soft-impact rubber, and low-threshold transitions. Our goal is to create smooth, stable pathways that reduce fall risk and make navigating the home easier
-
We can install railings and grab bars almost anywhere you need extra stability. Railings are often needed around porches, down stairs, and along sidewalks. Grab bars are useful almost anywhere, but are especially helpful near toilets, sinks, showers, doorways, and beds.
-
Stairlifts provide a safe and dependable way to navigate stairs at home. We install and configure stairlifts to match your staircase and mobility needs.
-
We are a comprehensive remodeling company, so we can do any project you need. In fact, many of our clients have us do other updates and repairs along side the primary accessibility project. Other work often include roof repairs, driveway repairs, furnace updates, window replacements, updating trim and paint throughout the home, installing new appliances, and many more.
